     As a Business Development (BD) Support Lead, you will work within the overarching Adapt Forward BD capability team, contributing to related plan development and execution.  You will also provide specific leadership to the identification, market intelligence, corporate prosecution, capabilities introduction, portfolio diversification, and capture of relevant opportunities within a dynamic pipeline construct that aligns to and within this strategic plan.  
     Additionally, you will help cultivate and articulate BD strategies and direction to senior management and other stakeholders. As such, you will serve as a key thought leader in identifying and winning executable business through expertise across the BD life cycle, from opportunity identification to execution. You will leverage and contribute to extensive industry networks (customers, partners, other stakeholders) within defense and federal government markets. 


Position Requirements and Duties 
  • Manage and support consistent repeatable BD planning and execution across all business units.  Identify, train, and empower POCs within each to help enhance situational awareness, and increase local customers and industry familiarity with our presence and capabilities.
  • Contribute throughout the BD process to include marketing and brand development, initial business development, targeted capture identification and execution, opportunity response (e.g., Requests for Information, Sources Sought Notices, and RFP/RFQ proposal submission efforts), and transition to post-award sustainment lead(s).
  • Participate in and conduct persistent market intelligence, consistent with Adapt Forward strategic plan parameters; leverage and contribute to regular collaboration within relevant internal and external stakeholders. Typical market intel includes prospective customer / markets, mission requirements, contract forecast and parameters within a rolling x-3 year timeline, relevant industry partner / competition, engagement opportunities (e.g., industry day, customer facing meetings), workforce and other pricing data, and pipeline data updates.
  • Identify, track, and update resulting opportunity pipeline with metrics that substantiate progress (or risk) to corporate strategic growth goals, target markets, quantifiable metrics, decision making steps, status, and Pwin values.
  • Specifically enhance understanding of target customer organizations and key decision makers, potential scope(s) of work, acquisition strategy, budget information, hot button technical and management considerations, evaluation criteria, incumbent positions (if any), price to win insights, and Adapt Forward value proposition possibilities.
  • Identify and execute advantageous teaming constructs per markets and opportunities.
  • Help engage addressable markets, presenting Adapt Forward capabilities and extending our corporate brand in target geographies, markets, and customer domains.
  • Generate and present customer and opportunity briefings to applicable Adapt Forward stakeholders (e.g., Bid/No-Bid decision briefings, proposal kickoffs and color team summaries). 
  • Support customer and industry relationship management strategies within applicable target geographies, markets, and customer domains.
  • Develop and manage BD budgets and resource assignments. 
  • Coordinate with the other functional organizations (HR, Contracts, Subcontracts, Financial) to ensure awareness, prioritization, milestones, peer-stakeholders (e.g., strategic partner POCs), resource requirements and status pertaining to each BD initiative.
  • Travel as required, as dictated by business need. 

Minimum Qualifications
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent years of directly relevant experience 
  • At least five years of related DoD BD and strategic capture experience

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Five years’ experience in BD activities supporting large, diverse portfolios within the DoD and Federal markets.  
  • Successful past performance developing customer relationships, developing a qualified pipeline, building industry relationships, and leading relevant BD efforts. 
  • Experience supporting all phases of a large and multi-year BD effort, including strategic planning, teaming, proposals, market, and competitive price-to-win. 
  • Ability to engage key client stakeholders to discuss Adapt Forward capabilities and services on several large-scale projects. 
  • Ability to cross-sell capabilities and solutions into adjacent markets. 
  • Extensive experience developing and maintaining relationships with small and large business industry partners and developing strong teaming strategies.
  • Experience writing and/or contributing win strategies, key offer elements, competitive discriminators and resulting win themes to technical, management, past performance, and other proposal related content. 
  • Ability to coordinate and work across various corporate functional resource teams to develop a winning proposal, and transition to successful execution and sustainment. 
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD and other applicable Federal customer acquisition and budgeting constructs. 
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
