HAIMS System Administrator

Job Description:

The candidate will provide System Administration in support of SPAWAR’s Healthcare Artifact and Image Management Solution (HAIMS) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Sustainment and Monitoring:
  • Server Services and port monitoring (i.e. CMS Replication services stops or Study Registration is not running).
  • Server to server connectivity (i.e. Connectivity to HAIR web VIP stops).
  • Server Usage monitoring/altering: Hard Drive usage, CPU usage, Memory usage
  • Day and after hours Helpdesk Supporting
  • Design and deployment of critical monitoring tools such as System Center Operation Manager and Configuration Manager
  • Help with sustainment activities:
    • After-hours system/alert monitoring
    • Help with Windows 2008/2012 patching and maintenance
    • Troubleshooting user connectivity or general system access
  • SQL Database Maintenance: 
    • Managing and fixing database fragmentation
    • Managing cluster failover and health
    • Backup of SQL DBs
  • Active Directory Maintenance:
    • Ensuring systems are in the correct OU's
    • Ensuring the GPO is correct and implemented properly
    • Maintaining Active Directory accounts - for accuracy and relevance
    • Maintaining Service Accounts - for accuracy and relevance
  • Other Tasks include:
    • Supporting other environment Application builds and troubleshooting
    • Process improvement
    • Analytical thinker to assist with future planning of the tech refresh efforts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with Remote Administration of systems and Administration of Windows OS Systems
  • Experience with MS SharePoint, MS SQL, Windows Clustering, SQL Clustering
  • On call, weekend and after hours work requirements are necessary
  • Must be able to complete travel deployments – to do installations and system setup (upwards to two weeks a month during deployment periods)
  • Must be able to install/configure/maintain Windows Server 2008/2012
  • Analytical skills set to troubleshoot day-to-day issues (Windows systems, IIS, SQL, TCP/IP Network, VLANs, IP subnets, virtual connect, load balancers)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2008/2012 in MSCS failover clustering setup
  • Installation and maintenance of Active Directory (AD) including upgrading AD environments from 2008 to 2012
  • Great working knowledge in Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Great troubleshooting skills that we can train on the HAIMS application.
  • Familiar with HP c7000 and HP SAN storage devices (3 PARs/P6500s/P6550s).
  • Familiar with other SAN storage devices (NetApp/EMC/Hitachi/HP).

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of VMware technologies:
    • VMware, 6.x, upgrades, vcenter appliances, vRops, VUM, dVswtichess, ESXi, STIG,
    • Experience with VMWare 5.0/6.0 virtual environments. (Installing/upgrading/troubleshooting/maintenance).
    • Some ability to install and configure ESXi and Vcenter environments
    • Some ability to managed VMware environments before
    • Some ability to do upgrades and patches - vcenter and ESXi hosts
    • Some ability to deploy Windows Server 2012 OS as VMs

Professional Skills/Required Skills:

  • Obtain and maintain compliance with applicable DoD 8570.01-M requirements
  • Ability to communicate well (Must be able to communicate with Government clients)
  • Ability to be a self-starter
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Great personality to work on team oriented projects/tasks
  • Some travel may be required for deployment installations
